Bugs Studio is a design, build, and research collective with a focus on sustainability through creative reuse and thoughtful space planning. We specialize in resourceful, cost-conscious solutions to social, spatial, and material problems. We provide architecture and design services for commercial, residential, civic, and arts projects.
We are licensed in California.


Vision: Spatial Collage
We propose that layering materials and volumes in 3-Dimensional space is more than an aesthetic strategy: flexibility is a sustainable practice, enriched by layering old and new. It also says something about the relationship of the individual to the collective– one person’s intervention is a contribution to a longer heritage of interventions. By privileging dialogue across time instead of single authorship, architecture becomes a record of cultural memory, richer and more resilient for being rooted in the collective history of place.
